Bobby Flay is selling the Los Angeles home where he had the previous owners build an outdoor kitchen before he purchased it.

The Food Network star, 59, bought the mid-century modern home in Los Angeles' celebrity-favorite Bird Streets neighborhood in 2021 for $7.6 million after collaborating with the previous owners Michael and Arya Martin, who own interior design firm OSKLO, to build the outdoor kitchen of his dreams.

Flay's property is now listed for $9.25 million with Smith Cho of Compass.

"Bobby and our team started a dialogue and ended up coming up with an idea for implementing his new outdoor kitchen that's truly going to be one of the chicest anyone has seen," the Martins told PEOPLE in 2021. "We are combining all the cooking requirements a truly iconic chef has but in a sleek and modernist outdoor setting that befits the style of this incredible house."

"As designers, I don't think there's a better opportunity than to design a kitchen for someone like Bobby Flay - we are truly honored," they added.

The Martins said that the idea to renovate the kitchen came after they were introduced to Flay by realtors and struck up a conversation about how difficult it was to build a modern one that has all the capabilities a chef needs.

As for the open-concept indoor kitchen, it has concrete floors and dark, dramatic stone finishes. It also touts a media nook and a home bar.

The 5,800 square feet of living space includes four bedrooms and 4.5 baths, a glass atrium that's home to a live centenarian olive tree and floor-to-ceiling glass doors and windows to flood the living space with California sunshine.

The BBQ Brawl team captain's L.A. abode also features a two-car garage and an outdoor spa.
