‘Bob the Builder’ voice actor ,William Dufris, dies

William Dufris, the voice actor for Bob the Builder in the US and Canada, has sadly passed away at the age of 62.

The sad news of the actor’s passing from cancer was confirmed by a tweet from Pocket Universe Productions, the company he co-founded who produce shows such as The X-Files and a range of animated series.

“We are heartbroken to announce that the co-founder of @pocketplot and the director of “EC Comics Presents... The Vault of Horror”, William Dufris, has died from cancer,” the Tweet read.

“There is a hole in a lot of people’s hearts right now. We will have more to say later.”

William voiced Bob the Builder in the US and Canada while also bringing four other animated characters to life on the show over the course of nine seasons.

He also worked on audio dramas and narrated several audiobooks and according to AudioFile Magazine he owned his own audio production studio in his hometown of Maine, called Mind’s Eye Productions.

People have taken to Twitter to pay their respects to William, with one woman thanking him for “encouraging us to solve problems with a positive attitude, and for being part of my childhood.”
