Move over unicorn food, there’s a new food trend taking over Instagram — blue spaghetti.
That’s right, the Nemo coloured pasta is getting some major love from foodies because it’s a feast for the eyes and the tastebuds too.
Using blue spirulina to give the tagliatelle ribbons their electric hues, Mark + Vinnie’s Italian restaurant in Sydney are wowing diners with the bold blue colour of their spaghetti.
Served in a special tomato sauce with crab meat, the pretty pasta has taken social media by storm and tastes as good as it looks.
Plus, it comes with a matching blue spritz. OMG!
The tucked away Italian joint in Surry Hills also serves other delicious delights, including a vegan carbonara complete with an entire ‘yolk’ and a red pasta naturally coloured with beetroot.
As if that wasn’t trendy enough, there’s also a charcoal infused pasta too. Talk about a twist!
While the food is obviously the main attraction, you could also bump into a famous face as you tuck in at the intimate joint.
Our gal Delta Goodrem is real life besties with Vinnie (he’s also an extremely talented music composer, no biggie) and she loves eating there.
In honour of their friendship they’ve named of their 50 spritz recipes after Delts, and it’s as soothing as her voice.
The white malt whisky is mixed with butterfly tea, bitters, lavender, and bush tonic, the perfect cocktail which is far from Predictable.
It’s not the first time they’ve had a blue food go viral, with Mark’s blue algae latte from his Melbourne based Matcha Mylk Bar going viral for being a “vegan coffee”.
Bring on the carb overload we say, it’s guarantee to leave you feeling far from blue.
