Blake Lively Reveals ‘It Ends With Us’ Scandal ‘Traumatized’ Her Kids
Blake Lively has revealed that she is not the only one in her family who has suffered as a result of her experience on the set of her film It Ends With Us and from the alleged smear campaign waged against her during its promotion.
The 37-year-old actress, who shares children James, 9, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Olin, 1, with husband Ryan Reynolds, detailed how the ordeal “traumatized” her entire family in her lawsuit filed Friday against her co-star and the director of the film, Justin Baldoni.
“There are days when she has struggled to get out of bed, and she frequently chooses not to venture outside in public,” the lawsuit revealed.
“While she has fought to maintain her personal life and business interests, behind closed doors she has suffered from grief, fear, trauma, and extreme anxiety. She also has been experiencing repeated and painful physical symptoms as a result of this experience.”
Her husband, 48-year-old Reynolds, also has had his own struggles, she alleged.
“Mr. Reynolds, too, has been affected mentally, physically, and professionally by his wife and children’s pain,” the suit said.
“Worst of all, however, has been the impact on their young children, who have been traumatized and emotionally uprooted in ways that have substantially impacted their well-being.”
In the suit, Lively claimed that a lack of protocols on set of the production, helmed by Wayfarer Studio’s CEO Jamey Heath and Baldoni, led to her and her infant son contracting COVID.
“Ms. Lively was told by another producer that because [Justin and Jamey’s production company] Wayfarer did not have insurance coverage for COVID, Mr. Baldoni and Mr. Heath deliberately withheld from Ms. Lively that she had been exposed to COVID,” the court documents said. “Both Ms. Lively and her infant child contracted COVID from the outbreak.”
Lively’s lawsuit accused Baldoni of sexually harassing her on the set of the film, which led to her calling for an all-hands meeting with the cast and crew.
The suit also claimed Baldoni hired a crisis PR firm to wage a “multi-tiered plan that Mr. Baldoni and his team described as ‘social manipulation’ designed to ‘destroy’ Ms. Lively’s reputation.”
In a statement, Baldoni’s lawyer called her claims “outrageous.”
“These claims are completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media,” attorney Bryan Freedman told the Associated Press in a statement.
