Blake Lively Makes a ‘Chaotic’ Key Lime Pie Recipe in a Gown: ‘This Is Going to End Up on OnlyFans,’ She Jokes

"This is not suitable for work,” the 'It Ends With Us' star joked while preparing the dessert in a 'Vogue' video

Blake Lively brought glam to the kitchen.

The It Ends With Us star shared her mother’s key lime pie — which Lively said is “just a lemon icebox pie recipe that she just added lime to” — with Vogue as the cover star for their September 2024 issue.

“Welcome to not my kitchen but we’re going to pretend it’s my kitchen today,” she said at the start of the video, which was posted on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

The mother of four wears a pale yellow sequined gown and gold bracelets with her iconic blond hair styled in tousled waves. While she is the picture of glamour, her cooking style is more casual.

She explained that the crust is made of graham crackers, macadamia nuts, an egg, bourbon vanilla extract, salted butter and flaky salt. But that's where the specifics end.

“I would love to tell you the amount and the quantity that I use for my recipe but it's really to taste. Just pay really close attention and then guess,” she said.

Lively eyeballed the amount of ground macadamia nuts she added to the mixture before admitting, “This is not a tablespoon. I’m lying to you guys.”

“This is the most chaotic recipe!” she exclaimed, before making a funny admission. “At least I know when I die my kids will really miss me cause they’re never going to be able to recreate this.”

The pie goes into a 350° oven for about 8 to 10 minutes. After cooling, it goes in the freezer while she prepares the filling. With some editing magic, Lively stepped away with the crust to put it in the oven and returned into frame with all of her ingredients prepped for the next phase.

“The best part of cooking in the Vogue kitchen is when you walk away to the oven, you come back and all your ingredients are laid out for you and your new appliances are there,” said the Gossip Girl alum. “So I think I actually might cook here more often.”

Next up is the filling which is comprised of lemon, lime, sour cream, Cool Whip (“a genius invention,” said Lively), sweetened condensed milk, heavy whipping cream, vanilla pudding mix and Grand Marnier.

When it comes to prepping the lemon and lime juice, things get a little messy.

“I feel like this is gonna end up on OnlyFans like me leaning over, chest falling out, squeezing this lemon. This is not suitable for work,” she joked.

“You guys, I’m going to invest in a juicer for you guys,” she continued, still struggling to get the juice out of a stubborn lemon.

The pie has three “levels from most potent to least potent,” explained Lively. Simply add more whipped cream to each layer to dilute the flavor.

After topping with decorative lime slices and popping the pie in the freezer overnight, the dessert is ready.

During the video, Lively spoke about being “so proud” of not only her upcoming movie, It Ends With Us, but her other lifestyle projects, too.

“In the past handful of years, I found myself really leaning into creating products and building and developing something while getting to be around my children because I get to define my hours versus on a film you’re working 16 to 18 hours a day in Budapest or Capri which is amazing. But you know it’s a different lifestyle,” she said.

One of those products is her Betty Buzz drink line, some of which she used in a lemonade recipe during the Vogue cooking video. (“My special secret lemonade recipe which won’t be a secret anymore after today,” she joked.)

More recently, she announced another non-film endeavor: Blake Brown haircare line. The products, which were seven years in the making, were announced at the end of July.

She tested “hundreds of iterations,” of the formulas on her own hair and said she was “the first, middle and last head it was tried on each round.” The final result is eight products: two shampoo and mask systems, pre-shampoo mask, leave-in “potion,” dry shampoo and mousse.

“There are a lot of great options out there, but nothing that was doing all the things that I wanted, which was clean formulas with incredible performance at a mass price point with a fragrance that I would spray on my body,” Lively told PEOPLE. “I didn't want to step into something that someone else had already created because I wanted to replicate the systems and the patterns that I already loved.”
