Never underestimate Blake Lively's commitment to a theme. During the press tour for her movie It Ends With Us over the summer, the actress hit the red carpet in a slew of floral looks (her character's last name was Lily Bloom, after all), but even when it's not her own project to promote, she's still devoted to the method-dressing schtick

Case in point? On Tuesday, Lively attended a screening of Wicked at New York City's Metrograph movie theater with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, wearing the ultimate Wizard of Oz callback. For the event, she dressed casually in a pair of light-wash jeans and a white blazer with a matching pleated button-down that was embroidered with red-and-blue flowers underneath.

Not one to ever skimp on accessories, Lively added statement coral earrings, a smattering of green rings on both hands, and a floral-printed Chanel bag. She then proceeded to pay homage to Dorothy's iconic red slippers with a pair of platform Mary Jane heels from Marc Jacobs that were completely covered in ruby crystals. The shoes, and the rest of the Marc Jacobs x Wizard of Oz collection, are inspired by the original 1939 film's "phenomenal cultural impact" with a high-fashion twist.

Unlike his wife, Reynolds kept his look simple in a monochromatic outfit that consisted of khaki pants, a beige jacket, and brown suede shoes.

Following the screening, Reynolds and Lively posed with the film's stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, who both opted for cozy outerwear looks. Grande chose a collarless beige jacket with black buttons and a floor-sweeping hemline, while Erivo was dressed in a classic black wool coat with a matching scarf and hat.
