Blac Chyna Engaged to Derrick Milano After Onstage Proposal at Howard University
Milano serenaded the rapper with Mario's “Let Me Love You" before popping the question on Friday, Oct. 18
Blac Chyna and Derrick Milano are engaged!
The 36-year-old rapper, who now goes by her birth name Angela White, said “yes” after Milano, a Grammy-winning producer and songwriter, popped the question onstage during a Howard University homecoming event on Friday, Oct. 18.
Milano, 30, took the stage at Howard’s annual Yardfest concert in Washington, D.C. — White’s home city — to serenade the rapper with “Let Me Love You” by Mario, footage of the moment shows.
Midway through the love song, someone sneakily slipped a ring box into Milano's hand, which he then hid behind his back before getting on one knee.
“Baby you should let me love you, love you, love you,” Milano (whose real name is Derrick Gray) said, trailing off as the music cut out and he pulled out the ring box.
After an inaudible exchange, the couple embraced, with White smiling and seemingly dabbing a tear from her eye.
The producer later shared a video of the proposal on Instagram, along with two other clips that show why “Let Me Love You” was the song he chose for the romantic moment: one of himself performing it 13 years ago, and one of himself and White sharing a special moment as it played in the background.
In the caption, Milano wrote a touching message to his fiancée, beginning with “She said YES. 🫶🏾💍.”
“Angela Renee White, I can go on and on about how much you mean the world to me & never get tired of it,” he wrote. “I’ve found so much peace since we’ve met. & GOD put us in each other’s lives for a reason & for a purpose. Every day with you feels everlasting & it is such a blessing to call you my fiancée. I love you so much!”
“Thank you for letting me love you. & thank you for loving me equally,” he continued. “This is what it’s all about 💍.”

They made their relationship Instagram official months later in September 2023, before telling PEOPLE in a statement, “You won’t be able to say power couple without mentioning Angela White & Derrick Gray!”
While celebrating their first anniversary earlier this year, White shared a sweet tribute to her now-fiancé on Instagram.
"Happy 1 year anniversary @derrickmilano . 🙏🏽❤️,” she captioned her since-deleted post. “Reflecting on a year of pure magic and joy with you, my dearest Derrick.”
"Your love, support and friendship have filled my life with light and warmth,” she continued. “Thank you for showing me the true meaning of love. Here’s to countless more years of love and togetherness. I cherish you always 🌟🌹.”
