Bindi Irwin says boyfriend Chandler Powell is 'perfect'
Bindi Irwin has gushed about her relationship with boyfriend Chandler Powell, calling her man “perfect”.
The wildlife warrior is celebrating her 20th birthday today with her family, telling Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa she’s hosting a special crocodile feeding show later at Australia Zoo alongside mum Terri and younger brother Robert.
Bindi — who is the daughter of the late Steve Iriwn — said her boyfriend of four years would be joining them, confessing that hanging out with crocs was a dating requirement of hers.
“He’ll be getting in on the croc feeding action as well, because, you know I couldn’t be with anyone unless he could jump on crocodiles and feed them and was fearless,” she told the hosts.
Luckily it seems Chandler, 21, is more than comfortable around the scary water creatures, after making his debut at the park in April alongside his gal.
“He’s awesome, he’s been learning how to feed the giant salt water crocodiles and I am so proud,” she continued. “I couldn’t have found a more perfect person.”
“He shares my love of wildlife and wild places, what more could you want?”
The pair met in 2013 when the American enjoyed a tour of the zoo. But their romance blossomed when they bonded through letters they wrote to keep in touch.
For years the pair did long distance between his home in Florida with regular visits, before he finally moved to Australia at the start of this year.

To mark her birthday Bindi paid tribute to dad Steve and mum Terri in a heartfelt Instagram post, writing she was “blessed with the most beautiful existence”.
