Beyoncé Performs Cowboy Carter During NFL Christmas Gameday Halftime Show on Netflix — Watch and Weigh In

Beyoncé took center stage for the halftime show during the Texans vs. Ravens Christmas Day football game, proving girls don’t just run the world — but also Christmas and sports!

The production — which streamed exclusively on Netflix as part of the platform’s partnership with the NFL — marked Beyoncé’s first live performance of songs from her album Cowboy Carter. The Americana record earned 11 Grammy Award nominations earlier this month (including Album of the Year), making it the most-nominated album by a female artist in Grammy history.

Surrounded by a slew of dancers, the pop star delivered show-stopping renditions of hits like “16 Carriages,” “Blackbiird,” “Ya Ya,” “Riiverdance,” “Sweet Honey Buckiin’,” “Levii’s Jeans” and “Jolene.” She was joined on stage by her daughter Blue Ivy Carter and Cowboy Carter collaborators Shaboozey and Post Malone in the grand production that featured all the hallmarks of country culture: chaps, boots, pickup trucks, horses and cowboy hats.

She closed out the performance with “Texas Hold ‘Em” in celebration of Houston, her hometown. As she delivered her final notes, she boarded a rising platform and soared above the crowd in a gravity-defying stunt.

The performance will be available as a standalone special, “coming soon” on Netflix, the streamer announced following the show.

And Beyoncé wasn’t the only pop icon taking center stage during NFL Christmas Gameday. Mariah Carey kicked off the festivities with a pre-taped performance before the earlier Chiefs-Steelers game. (Watch video here.)
