Classic party season cocktails

Sangria
This traditional Spanish drink can be made in large quantities, and its flavour will improve over several hours. It can also be made up to a day in advance. Ingredients: Seasonal fruits, such as peaches, pears and pineapples, can be added to this basic recipe. Good quality wine is wasted in Sangria. Use table, or even cask, wine. 2 tbsp caster sugar 15ml lemon juice 15ml orange juice Orange, thinly sliced Lemon, thinly sliced Lime, thinly sliced Ice 1 bottle red wine, chilled. Method: 1. Mix sugar, lemon and orange juice in a large pitcher until sugar has dissolved. 2. Add sliced fruit, wine and plenty of ice and stir well. Serve in large wine glasses (do not strain).
