Gloria giraffe gobble-its

Preparation time: 30 mins

Cooking time: 10-15 mins
Makes: 10-20 balls

Ingredients

  • 180ml light honey

  • 55g margarine

  • 10ml cold water

  • 330g icing sugar

  • 50g marshmallows

  • 220g plain popped popcorn

  • Vegetable oil

Method

1| Put honey, margarine, water, sugar and marshmallows in a pan, and put over a medium heat.
2| Heat and stir until mixture comes to the boil. Put popcorn in a large bowl and pour over honey mixture, covering popcorn evenly. Cool slightly.
3| Grease hands with vegetable oil. Quickly shape mixture into golf ball-sized ‘goblets’ before it cools. Wrap in cling wrap and store at room temperature.


Alex’s choc crunch

Preparation time: 15 mins

Cooking time: 30 mins
Makes: 14-20 slices

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar

  • 1¼ cups plain flour

  • ¾ cup dessicated coconut

  • 2 cups cornflakes

  • 2 Tbsp cocoa powder

  • 200g butter, melted

  • 1 cup icing sugar

  • Extra 1 Tbsp cocoa powder

  • Extra 1 Tbsp melted butter

  • Dash of milk

Method

1| Preheat oven to 180°. Combine first 5 ingredients in a bowl, then stir in butter.

2| Press mixture into a greased slice tin. Bake for 30 minutes.

3| Combine icing sugar and extra cocoa; stir in extra butter and milk till smooth. Ice slice while warm, chill in fridge and cut when cool.


Madagascar monkey martini

Preparation time: 5 mins

Serves: 2

Ingredients

  • Flavoured soft drink of your choice

  • 4 scoops vanilla ice-cream

Method
1| Pour soft drink into each glass.

2| Divide ice-cream between 2 glasses and serve.
