How to glue using plastic glue

Items made of plastic, such as toys, are notoriously difficult to glue, with one problem being the super-smooth surfaces of the breaks. You’ll find a number of plastic glues include a preparatory primer/cleaner. Practise how you’re going to join the pieces and hold them first – as the bond is achieved within a few seconds, it’s not the time to change your mind or reposition your hands!

Step 1: Put item on newspaper. If required, use priming/cleaning solution on both sides of joint and don’t touch again. Apply glue sparingly to 1 side of joint.

Step 2: Bring 2 halves together firmly and hold for a few seconds, (or as long as instructions say), and that’s it! Don’t put glued joints under stress for about 24 hours.
