How to make crochet boot cuffs to change up your winter look without bulky knitted socks. Pretty scallops reminiscent of frilly ribbon-topped socks are easy to create with crochet.


Gather your supplies

  • Morris Empire 8ply 50g: 1 ball Colour 809 Pumpkin
  • Notes:

    MEASUREMENTS: One size fits all

    Here's How

    • Step 1: Ch 24 and turn work.
      Row 1: Ch3, miss one ch, tr in each chain to end.
      Row 2: Turn. Ch4, * miss next 2 tr, 2 tr in space between next 2 tr, 1 ch, rep from * to end, 1 tr
      Row 3: Turn. 3 ch, 1 tr in first sp, * 1 tr in each of next 2 tr, 1 tr in next 1 ch sp, rep from * to end. 1 tr in 3rd of 4ch.
      Rows 2 and 3 form patt. Rep these 2 rows until boot cuff measures 32cm or desired length around the width of leg.
    • Step 2: TO MAKE UP
      Using wool needle, join ends using mattress stitch. Weave in ends.
    • Step 3: Scallop Edging
      With right sides facing, begin at seam edge: 1dc in seam,* 5tr in sp, 1dc in tr, rep from * in round until you reach the first dc and join with slip stitch.
