With the Golden Globes, Governors Awards and Critics Choice Awards already been and gone, the 2024 awards szn is showing no signs of slowing down with the 75th Emmy Awards taking place last night (Monday 15th January) in Los Angeles. And in this case, they've been long-awaited.
After initially announcing nominations six months ago, the Emmys were postponed from its original September date due to the SAG strikes. So despite awarding television programmes that aired from June 1, 2022, until May 31, 2023, as chosen by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the ceremony actually ended up taking place in 2024... Cue much confusion over whether this is the 2023 or 2024 Emmys.
Either way, the likes of Ayo Edebiri, Sarah Snook and Jeremy Allen White *finally* got to pick up their trophies. And aside from the winners on-stage, there were some serious red carpet winners thanks to our favourite celebrities going all out with their looks.
From Suki Waterhouse redefining maternity fashion in a bump-baring Valentino gown to Jenna Ortega ditching Wednesday Addams' signature aesthetic in romantic Dior, there was no shortage of stunning 'fits to be seen. As well as some of SS24's biggest trends, from Camila Morrone in red, Meghann Fahy repping 3D florals, Juno Temple greenlighting the return of the peplum, ofc naked dressing courtesy of Selena Gomez's see-through gown plus Issa Rae and Jessica Chastain in fringing.
