“These are some of the darkest days of my family’s life,” Priscilla said in an emotional Facebook post.

“The shock of losing Ben has been devastating. Trying to put all the pieces together of all the possible whys has penetrated my soul. Each day I wake up I pray it will get better.”

Pricilla, who was married to Elvis Presley until 1973, with the couple welcoming Lisa Marie into the world in 1968, went on to address the pain the whole family is going through.

“Then, I think of my daughter and the pain she is going through as she was a doting mother. Ben’s father, Danny, who is completely lost, as Ben was his only son. Riley, so loving and so close to him; Harper and Finley, who absolutely adored Ben. Navarone, who struggles deeply with loss and death. Rest In Peace Ben, you were loved,” she wrote.

Earlier this month, the LA County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office confirmed that Benjamin Keough, died by suicide.

According to The Sun, a family insider said the 27-year-old “struggled” to live in his grandfather Elvis’ “shadow” and was “lost”.

It was also revealed that the Presley family, including Lisa Marie, Ben and her twins, Harper and Finley, 11, had been staying at a hotel for the past few weeks due to an issue with mould at their LA mansion.

However, over the weekend, Ben returned to the house, where the incident took place.

"He shouldn't have been there, but it seems he wanted to get away,” the source continued.

"Lisa was at the hotel when she got the call, she's distraught obviously, Ben was her life.”

Sources say Ben had been dealing with mental health issues before taking his life in Calabasas, California.

Lisa’s manager, Roger Widynowsk, told TMZ that the star is devastated over the loss of her son.

"She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11 year old twins and her oldest daughter Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life."

The son of Danny Keough, Benjamin followed in his famous family’s footsteps and was also a musician. He also acted in a short film called Rod and Barry.

Benjamin kept quite a low profile, but was known to look almost identical to his famous grandfather.

“He does [look so much like Elvis]!” Lisa Marie told CMT in 2012. “He was at the Opry and was the quiet storm behind the stage. Everybody turned around and looked when he was over there. Everybody was grabbing him for a photo because it is just uncanny.”

Elvis’s daughter also admitted she’s “overwhelmed” at times at how much they look alike. As for whether Ben inherited his father’s musical skills, she has been cagey on behalf of her son.

“He’s doing his own thing right now,” she told Huffington Post in 2013. “I’m going to let him decide when he wants to go out and do what he wants to do.”
