When it comes to facial hair, Ben Affleck never seems to stick to one style for too long. One minute he's clean-shaven, the next he's rocking a full beard.
In a series of recent pics obtained by Page Six, the Gone Girl star was sporting some serious scruff—but it's not clear whether he's just in the mood for a more rugged look or if he grew the hair for a role.

The 52-year-old actor was photographed driving around Los Angeles with a dark, bushy beard and mustache, smoking a cigarette and wearing a blue sweater with the sleeves pushed up.
Affleck had the same beard when he took his son Samuel to watch the Los Angeles Lakers play against the Toronto Raptors at the Crypto.com Arena in California earlier this month, though he was often seen smooth-faced in the months leading up to his split from Jennifer Lopez.

Lopez, 55, filed for divorce on Aug. 20, which happened to be the couple's second wedding anniversary, citing "irreconcilable differences."
According to Variety, Affleck is teaming up with longtime friend and collaborator Matt Damon for the upcoming Netflix thriller RIP from writer and director Joe Carnahan.
While details of the project are still under wraps, Affleck and Damon will reportedly co-star in the film. Whether or not either star will have facial hair in the flick remains to be seen, however.
