Over a decade after leaving Home and Away, Bec Hewitt is set to make her return to TV hosting a new weekly travel series called Hello World.
The 35-year-old mum of three revealed “it’s the right time” for her to return to lounge rooms across Australia, after she spent much of the last 13 years focusing on being a mum, and wife to tennis pro Lleyton Hewitt.
“I think it’s the right time and the right job just to fit in with my other job of being a mum,” she told News Corp.
The new Channel Nine series, will also star a host of well-known names including Sonia Kruger, Ray Martin, Lauren Phillips and Steve Jacobs, who will all feature alongside Bec.
Bec’s breakout role on TV came in 1998, portraying Hayley Smith Lawson on Home and Away. She became a series fan favourite and earned herself numerous Logie Award nominations until she finished on the show in 2005.
Her only other experience in hosting came on another Channel Nine show, Abba Mania, which premiered in November 2006.
Now Bec said she is looking forward to spending her “first night ever” away from the couple’s three children daughter, Mia, 12, Cruz, 9 and, Ava, 7.
“I’ve never been away before, so this will be my first trip. I’ve never gone on a girls’ weekend, or anything,” she told the publication.
She also admitted it will be “refreshing” to travel on a plane without kids.
After Lleyton’s retirement, the family have now settled in Melbourne and bought a stunning Toorak mansion for $12.7 million.
