Anyone who lived through the 90's knows that Jennifer Aniston's 'Rachel' hair cut from Friends became one of the most iconic hairstyles ever.

The short, layered, choppy cut was coveted by women everywhere but 46-year-old Aniston thinks the shaggy cut doesn't translate well into the 21st century as it was so 90's.

When asked by Harpers Bazaar what she thought the 'Rachel' hairstyle of 2015 is today, Aniston said she doesn't think the style is as loved now as it was back then.



"The ombré hair kind of took over for a period," she said.

"I don't think the short, choppy Rachel haircut is as big—I think long, natural hair is more the look now.

"I think it's sort of a '90s thing, that choppy Rachel hair."

Aniston said she needs to work hard on her hair to get that perfect hair day look.

"I'm always envious of girls who get out of the shower and their hair just dries and they can just go," she said.

"I have all sorts of weird cowlicks, so when it actually decides to behave in the elements, that is the perfect hair day to me."

The actress, who married Justin Theroux last month has previously spoken out about her distaste for the 'Rachel' hair cut.

"I was not a fan of the 'Rachel'. That was kind of cringe-y for me. Looking back — honestly, even during that time — I couldn't do it on my own," she told Glamour.

"I needed [my hairstylist] Chris [McMillan] attached to my hip. Left to my own devices, I am not skilled with a hairbrush and blow-dryer."
