Plastic surgery fail: botched butt implants

A video of a woman rotating the implants in her buttock cheek has gone viral.

The stomach-churning footage has had tens of thousands of hits since it was posted online.

"This is my implant flipping backwards," says the woman, as she flips the silicone bubble in her butt cheek.

Website World Star Hip Hop has quoted the person who they believe posted the video saying that the augmentation surgery nearly killed her, and that she was having the implants removed.

UK plastic surgeon Adrian Richards told the Daily Mail that loose implants were a relatively common complication.

"It shouldn't really happen because the pocket should be snug so the implant stays where it is," he told the newspaper.

Buttock augmentation, a type of gluteoplasty, usually involves the transfer of your own fat to the area or the placement of an implant underneath the gluteus maximus muscle.

It's a relatively new procedure that is, according to the Australia Plastic Surgery website, particularly popular in cities including Los Angeles and Rio de Janeiro.

In March this year a woman in the US died after a botched buttock augmentation procedure performed at an illegal clinic.
