People Are Bothered And Frustrated For Barry Keoghan After He Revealed The Vile And "Inhumane" Treatment He's Received From Fans Since His Sabrina Carpenter Split
Barry Keoghan is speaking out to address the hate and "absolute lies" ignited by his reported breakup with Sabrina Carpenter.
Last week, People reported Barry and Sabrina had decided to take a "break" after a year of dating. While a source cited their ages and busy careers, the internet did what it did and speculated that Barry had cheated on the pop star.
The rumors were helped by a blind item that appeared on Deuxmoi shortly before the breakup news, which claimed an unnamed "foreign actor" had cheated on his "popstar girlfriend" with an influencer, leading the pop star to break up with him.
It all got really nasty, leading Barry to delete his Instagram account and now, he has issued a direct message in response to the relentless hate.
Taking to X, Barry wrote, "I can only sit and take so much." He said usually, he doesn't respond to online criticism, but he has to "respond now because it's getting to a place where there are too many lines being crossed."
"I deleted my account because I can no longer let this stuff distract from my family and my work," the said. "The messages I have received no person should ever have to read them."
According to Barry, the treatment he's received has included "absolute lies, hatred, disgusting commentary about my appearance, character, how I am as a parent and every other inhumane thing you can imagine."
"Dragging my character and everything I worked extremely hard for and stand for," Barry continued. He said people have also made vile comments about his upbringing, which saw him living in multiple foster homes as a child before moving in with his grandmother at 10 as his mom battled heroin addiction. "Talking about how I was a heroin baby and how I grew up and dragging my mother into it also. Knocking on my grannies door. Sitting outside my baby boys house intimidating him. Thats crossing a line."
Barry urged people to be respectful, pointing out that his son, Brando, 2, will see all of this commentary someday. "Each and every day I work harder to push myself on every level to be the healthiest and strongest person for that boy," he wrote. "I want to provide opportunities for him to learn, fail and grow. I want him to be able to look up to his daddy, to have that full trust in me and know I will have his back no matter what."
"I need you to remember he has to read ALL of this about his father when he is older. Please be respectful to all," Barry concluded. "Thank u."

In the comments, people shared support for him and also called out the "creepy" and disturbing comments.
One person said, "people need to leave his family members out of this omg have some empathy."
Another said it's "beyond disgusting" to bring his family into it.
"Stalking a literal strangers child is absolutely vile," a Reddit user agreed.
"There’s many celebrities I don’t like and many relationships I side eye but I just judge silently or with friends like a normal person. Harassing relatives is stalker behaviour and creepy," wrote a second redditor.
"What the fuck is wrong with people??" questioned another.
It's very creepy and disturbing — and totally unacceptable. Remember, we don't know celebs personally!! Also, these claims are completely unsubstantiated — in fact, a source even denied them! People need to chill out.
