Former Bake Off contestant Ruby Tandoh has said she feels "sick" at the sound of the show’s theme tune.

The chef was a contestant on the popular programme in 2013 and was embroiled in a bit of a controversy when fans accused judge Paul Hollywood of giving her preferential treatment because of her looks.

The 29-year-old later publicly fell out with Hollywood.

Speaking on the How To Fail podcast, Tandoh said she “can't have anything to do with” the competition now.

Asked if she still tunes in to watch the series, she said: “No, I can’t. I appreciate it as a show. I think the format is clearly compelling, but no.

“When I hear the little song, the little jingle at the start, I feel sick.”

“I can’t have anything to do with it, I’m afraid,” added the food writer.

During Tandoh’s time on the show, some fans thought that she did well because Hollywood liked her.

However, he dismissed the claims as “rubbish”.

Tandoh later came out, writing on Twitter: “PS For those who thought I fancied Paul Hollywood or that I’d ever b*** him to get ahead – JOKE’S ON YOU, YOU MASSIVE S******* MISOGYNISTS.”

Hollywood responded to the tweet and said he was happy for Tandoh, but criticised her for “bringing me into your announcement”.

She later called the baker a “peacocking manchild”.
