Man's unusual Volkswagen confounds TikTok users: 'Where's the rest of it?'

How can anyone fit in this thing?!

You’ve heard of “skinny house,” the unusually shaped house in Deerfield, Illinois, that looks too narrow to be real. Now get ready for “thinny car,” the modified Volkswagen that looks like it’s been smushed by the Hulk.

On July 30, user vistoenlasredes74 uploaded a video of thinny car to TikTok, which quickly racked up more than 1 million views.

In the video, vistoenlasredes74 circles the two-seater with his phone, proving to nonbelievers that it is, in fact, real.

Based on the video, it appears as though the masterminds behind “thinny car” simply removed the center of the vehicle and molded the front and rear of the car into a new, much narrower car.

In another video, someone actually drives the car down the street with a passenger in the back — and though the car looks out of place on the road, both the driver and the passenger appear perfectly comfortable.

In his caption, vistoenlasredes74 called the modified vehicle “the weirdest car I’ve ever seen” — and many TikTok users agree.

“Where’s the rest of it?” one person asked.

“Is it real?” another user asked.

To answer that second question: Yes, the car does appear to be real, though it’s unlikely it’s street-legal.
