The Bachelor star Cassandra Wood is no stranger to sharing bikini snaps, and given the recent announcement she’s starring in Bachelor In Paradise next year, the reality star is bound to be seen in more swimwear on Aussie TV.
Now the 24-year-old has taken the opportunity to address the wave of social media backlash she’s faced recently over her bikini photos.
Taking to Instagram on Friday afternoon, the ex of Nick Cummins shared a photo of her and two other bikini-clad female pals soaking up the sun, and being “young, wild and free”.
“I felt a little skeptical to post this photo as I have seen a couple of negative comments lately about posting in bikinis, etc,” Cass wrote.
“It did get to me a little and I felt like I had to think carefully about what I was posting and almost as if I was being controlled and couldn’t post what I wanted to. Then I thought.. what the hell, this is ridiculous, I’ve literally been brought over to Thailand on a swimwear shoot and everyone has the right to post as they please anyway without explaining themselves to people,” she continued.
The Bachelor star explained her new photo reflected “three girls living in the moment having the time of their lives”, and that her philosophy was about “women supporting each other”.
“I stand by the motto ‘If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say it at all’ and I am proud of who I am,” she concluded.
“Thank you for the people that continue to support one another. Kindness and positivity will take you far.”
Well said, Cass.
