The Bachelorette and Bachelor In Paradise star Jake Ellis reflects on his 'edit'.

Video transcript

JAKE ELLIS: It's been a long time. I still can't believe I did three. Like, I'm obviously-- I'm, obviously, old news now. But, you know, I think I went through a few things. You know, at "The Bachelor", I was the boring, nice, family guy. Look, I am a family guy. That's very true, but, like, I don't think I'm boring. And then obviously, the first season of "Paradise" where it's a lot more loose, and there's a lot more things, sort of, happening on air.

You know, I was Jake the snake for a few episodes. And I was-- I copped it because, I guess, the no nonsense side of me was really shown a bit more. And then the other-- I think I finished well. Like obviously, I left the show for a chance at love, which is the whole point. Like, I walked out for that. So I think I had a bit of a roller coaster of betrayals. From nice to everyone hating me to then people, sort of, I guess, liking me again.

But there's only so much you can do. Like, what you think you're going to be portrayed as or the things that you go through, how you think that's going to be perceived by the public, it can be completely different. So-- but I think this early stage, like, "The Bachelor", it's always about the drama. So I think the-- and I think the girls know that. Like, Tash definitely knows that. That's for sure.
