They wrote, "It is with the heaviest heart that we want to let everyone know that we have decided to take time apart in order to give each other space and time to fully focus on our own paths.

"We both love each other deeply & only want the best for each other & both want the ultimate happiness for each other and hopefully our paths will reconnect again soon.

"We’ve decided to be open with this so there’s no speculation and so we expect love, respect & kindness in return."

They each ended their statements saying they loved the other.

Married at First Sight star Tracey Jewel commented on Ali's post, "Wishing you both all the best."

A fan added, "If it’s meant to be, you’ll find each other again. So sorry to hear Ali. Sending you love."

Another wrote, "Had a feeling this was happening. Take care both of you. Love and Light."

Earlier this week Ali shared a photo of herself and Taite with the caption, "I [love] you my man."

The pair had been separated for 88 days due to the coronavirus pandemic with Ali in Queensland with her family and Taite in Victoria for work. They reunited in June.

Ali was very open about how much she missed Taite during that time in emotional Instagram posts.

She has previously told WHO what her dream wedding would be, saying, "I am a romantic type, but I’ve never been one to design my dress or think about the ring and all that. All I know is that I want it on the beach."

Taite also revealed to NW that he was also interested in marriage and kids, despite previously not being so keen.

"I didn't want kids prior to coming on [the show]... Obviously it's the reason I got out of my last relationship, because I wasn't ready for that. But after I'd been single for a year and a half, I thought, 'I want to settle down now.' It's not scary."

They joked that they'd be keen to name one of their children 'Tali' – a mix between Taite and Ali.

The pair have worked together on a fitness and wellness studio in Ballarat, so it's unsure how they will deal with this and the split.
