'We are so in love': Bachelor star welcomes new baby

The Bachelor world has welcomed yet another bundle of joy following the birth of Simone Ormesher’s, a contestant from Matty J’s 2017 season, first baby.

The 26-year-old announced the arrival of her newborn daughter on Instagram on Thursday, sharing three sweet snaps of the bub from her hospital room.

“Welcome to the world Gracie-Mae Kathleen Thorne,” the new mum captioned the pics, adding that her little girl’s middle name Kathleen is a tribute to her own ‘Nanna’.

“More beautiful than we could have ever imagined,” the beaming mama added.

Gracie-Mae is the personal trainer’s first child with her partner and fellow Brit, Matt Thorne.

Simone’s bundle of joy

Simone’s delivery wasn’t a smooth experience, however, with the blonde beauty revealing that Gracie-Mae suffered “a few complications” that saw her being admitted to the Neonatal intensive care unit.

“After a few complications with baby’s breathing she was admitted to NICU where she is being looked after but is doing so well and will hopefully be home with us in a couple of days,” she wrote.

“We could not have asked for a more stronger, amazing baby girl we are so in love,” she concluded.

It appears that the newborn may have arrived earlier than expected, as Simone’s Instagram bio states “Mummy to be 6th October” which is several days later than her birth.

Proud dad Matt took to his own Instagram account to share a heartfelt announcement, writing, "Welcome Gracie Mae. Words can not describe the emotions and feelings I have for these two girls”.

He also made mention of the “big scare” the previous night but added that his daughter is “recovering well”.

The day before she gave birth, Simone shared a selfie from her delivery suite that showed her hooked up to several drips while wearing a white hospital gown.

She captioned the pic, which included partner Matt, “She’s on her way”.

The pair announced they were expecting back in March, with Simone regularly sharing snaps to track her burgeoning bump on social media.

Simone’s road to romance

After failing to find love with Matty J on season five of The Bachelor, the former waitress tried her luck on Bachelor in Paradise in 2018 where she paired up with fellow series alum Apollo Jackson.

She and the magician, who appeared in Sophie Monk’s season of The Bachelorette, soon split after the show ended.

Simone and Bristol-born Matt went public as a couple in December that year.

Simone’s new arrival isn’t the only Bachie baby born this year.

Season three couple Sam and Snezana Wood welcomed their third daughter, Charlie Lane, in July.

Matty J and Laura’s first daughter, Marlie-Mae, also arrived in July.

Interestingly, both Simone and Matty J’s girls share striking similarity names.

Also in July, Emily Ghougassian (née Simms), who appeared on Sam Wood’s season in 2015, gave birth to a baby girl.

Here’s hoping the four baby girls all grow up and become pals - and perhaps star on The Bachelor 2045.
