The secret to a successful Bachelor romance

After recently announcing their engagement earlier this year, Australia's first ever Bachelor couple, Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich, have proved that reality television love can last.

Now the pair have revealed the secret to their successful romance, and according to Tim, "it’s pretty simple".

Speaking to Be at the David Jones Spring/Summer collection launch in Sydney on Wednesday, 30-year-old lawyer Anna said: "Honestly we’ve just been ourselves and it worked".

Explaining she's glad she took a leap of faith and went on the reality show, Anna continued: "You just don’t know whether or not it’s going to work and you hope it does. We’re really lucky that we went in there and we found eachother".

Meanwhile 34-year-old chiropractor Tim said: "If you bring each other up, keep it going. If you bring each other down, move on. It’s pretty simple".

The couple admitted this advice could go a long way in helping current Bachelor Matty J as he vows to find the love of his life on the Channel Ten reality show.

Anna and Tim found love during the first season of The Bachelor Australia back in 2013, and are the only couple from the local series, a well as Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski, who are still going strong.

Anna admitted on Wednesday night that she's "very excited" about her man finally popping the big question after months of engagement speculation.

"It’s one question I don’t need to answer anymore, 'When are we going to get engaged?'" she told Be.

But the bubbly blonde might have to battle it out with her handsome fiance when it comes to who plans the big day, as she claims Tim likes to make the decisions.

"No, it's like Manzilla!" she said when asked if there'll be some Bridezilla moments.

"Groomzilla," Tim laughed, before adding, "I’m a good planner, I like to. I wanna make sure this goes well.

"Anna’s great at planning stuff but I’m just a little bit better."
