Nothing compares to feeling like you’re on top of the world - and where better to do that than on a luxurious rooftop bar with drinks flowing and a view that would make even the most avid Instagrammer shun their phone for the night?

After a recent trip to Thailand, I think I may have found one of the best rooftop bars in the world.

It goes by the name of Baba Nest and it’s located at the luxurious Sri Panwa resort, in the most south-eastern tip of Phuket.

Baba Nest is the epitome of a show-stopping bar setting - a spacious tiled floor with mini tables, large bean bag cushions and a view you won’t be able to take your eyes off.

Surrounding the tiled area is a wraparound infinity pool that blends into the skyline and immediately draws your attention to the spectacular 360 degree views of the Andaman Sea and the Islands that surround Cape Panwa.

They’re all about the simplistic look here, so while the bar is located back inside (so as not to ruin the aesthetic) don’t worry, you won’t have to give your seat up if you need a top up because they have attentive table service.

I visited recently and after taking a while to pick my jaw up from the floor after walking in, I basked in the blissful sound of soft chatter and mellow music with some light Mexican tapas and an ice-cold Lycheetini as the sun went down.

The exclusive bar is open to both hotel guests and the public, however you’ll need to be prepared when it comes to organising this one, as it’s advised you book your visit several weeks in advance to avoid disappointment - but trust me, it’s well worth the wait.

The place was so impressive I returned the next morning for a sunrise yoga class offered to guests at the hotel and saw Baba Nest in a completely different light.

While the 6:30am wake up was not ideal after a night of cocktails, the view alone was the perfect motivation. Although, I’ll admit it was hard to keep my eyes closed during the poses as the purple sky shone bright in the background.

While Baba Nest was definitely a highlight during my stay at Sri Panwa, it wasn’t the only Instagramable place on the property.

Even the celebrities rate it as one of Thailand’s best, with Snoop Dogg, Rita Ora, Mariah Carey and Gordon Ramsay all having stayed at Sri Panwa.

The resort villas are designed to be like dreamy private homes, each with their own pool. The sizes range from one-bedroom suites to the five bedroom residences (where the celebs typically stay).

I was put up in one of the luxury villas, which featured an outdoor sun deck next to an infinity pool, which spanned across both the bedroom and bathroom and gave me uninterrupted views of the ocean.

It also had a two-person spa bath, an outdoor shower, a steam room and a walk in wardrobe - an ideal option for couples on their honeymoon or simply wanting to indulge in a luxurious holiday.

There are five gourmet restaurants on-site. Take your pick from traditional Thai, Chinese, Japanese, BBQ specialties or a variety of favourites at Baba Pool club, where breakfast is also served overlooking the beach.

My personal favourite would have to be Baba IKI where the chefs crafted a menu full of the best Japanese food I have ever tasted.

The sweet and salty pork belly and the fish with green mango salad at Baba Soul Food was also a winner.

And if you overindulge at dinner and have no interest in walking up the hill back to your villa, don’t worry because the hotel provides its own Tuk Tuk service – and not once did I ever find myself waiting longer than a few minutes after making the call to reception.

My villa assistants were also wonderful, treating me with a surprise birthday cake one night to gifting me flowers and a ‘Get well soon’ card after a very minor injury the next day.

It’s little touches like that which have me dreaming of jumping on the next flight back to Sri Panwa.

Yahoo Lifestyle was invited as a guest of Sri Panwa.
