69 per cent of Aussie women prefer holidays to sex

If you had the choice between a summer vacay or getting busy between the sheets, what would you pick?

Well, for Australian women, the choice is abundantly clear. An astounding 69 per cent of females would pass up on a night of passion in order to go on a holiday.

Women choose holidays over sex

The jaw-dropping insights come from a new survey by digital travel platform Agoda.com, who quizzed 1,000 Australians of both genders about their travel habits.

Turns out, over half of us (57 per cent) would prioritise a holiday over sex (25 per cent), exercising (seven per cent) and a big night out (six per cent).

While just 13 per cent of Aussie gals said they would choose sex over a getaway, 36 per cent of men revealed that they’d prefer to get hot and heavy instead.

On the other hand, 45 per cent of blokes ranked a trip away higher than sex.

Baby Boomers love travel the most

In terms of age, older Aussies have been bitten by the travel bug more than Gen Z, with 64 per cent of over-55-year-olds reporting that giddy pre-vacation excitement compared with 46 per cent of 18 to 24-year-olds.

Those of us living in New South Wales, Western Australia and Victoria are most travel-hungry, with 59 per cent ranking a holiday as giving them the biggest buzz.

In contrast, 28 per cent of South Australians get a buzz from the anticipation of sex, closely followed by 27 per cent of Queenslanders.
