Lucy Mecklenburgh's 'cool and edgy' gym wear collection

Lucy Mecklenburgh is designing a "cool and edgy" gym wear collection.

The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star has confessed to spending half her time in her sports gear and teamed up with Ellesse to design a collection which will make women's active wear more stylish.

She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I feel like I live in either gym wear or floor length dresses and evening dresses, there's been no middle ground for me at the moment. Always in the day I'm in gym wear and then in the evening I get really dressed up which is really nice because it's like going from one end of the spectrum to the other.

"I love both and I've got sort of a new love for gym wear and I'm currently designing my spring/summer 2016 collection for Ellesse which is pretty mad. I want to make it really cool and edgy - gym wear doesn't have to be boring now."

The brunette beauty, 23, is a self-professed "girly girl" and loves keeping up with fashion weeks to stay on top of the latest trends.

She explained: "I love going shopping. At the moment I'm loving looking at all of the pictures from fashion week. I'm a girly girl so I love fashion."

Lucy recently used her fashion knowledge to give PG tips' Monkey a makeover for Comic Relief and revealed she found the iconic character's diva-like behaviour hard to cope with.

She said: "Well it's hard to turn down when Monkey asks for you to style him, it doesn't happen every day. It sounded quite fun and it was nice to be involved in something that's raising a million pounds for Comic Relief. It was a fun job.

"I was styling him and he turned out to be a bit of a diva to be honest. Everything that I suggested he was like [pulls disgusted face] but we went for something quite practical in the end and I wanted to get in the colours for Comic Relief. I did him a cute little jumpsuit with a zip and a little army backpack."
