If you thought the masses were all pink-ed out after the Barbie press tour, then you likely never saw Wicked coming. Ariana Grande—who plays Glinda in the forthcoming movie-musical adaptation—has essentially transformed Wicked’s promotional run into a PR campaign for the color pink, infusing her monochromatic outfits with a joie de vivre that could only be befitting of the Good Witch.
On November 14, the celeb stepped out in not one, not two, but three fabulous and completely pink outfits. The first of the trio was a frilly high-low gown from Giambattista Valli’s 2017 Spring Couture collection, which made the singer look as if she were floating on a cotton candy pink cloud. She paired the dress with satin pointed-toe pumps and pearl and diamond earrings from Swarovski.
Next, she headed to New York City’s Museum of Modern Art for yet another Wicked premiere. The occasion called for a custom-made Louis Vuitton ensemble: a fuchsia column gown with a gathered sweetheart neckline and a bubble peplum attachment around the waist. Ari completed the outfit with diamonds from Lorraine Schwartz, which came in the form of a choker necklace and stud earrings.
The musician also posed alongside her Wicked costar, Cynthia Erivo, who wowed in an all-black Dior ball gown. The fit featured a plunging corset layered underneath a transparent knit turtleneck long-sleeve, as well as a voluminous silk skirt. To top it off, the Tony Award winner added a black fishnet veil and—paying homage to her character, Elphaba—green eyeshadow.
For the after-party, Ariana brought out one more pink look that involved a long, glossy, pale-pink coat from Leset, which she layered over transparent black tights and black leather pumps. (The best part? Her coat is still available for purchase here—and it even comes in a black version for those Wicked fans who self-identify with Elphaba.)
