Ariana Grande Sings Along with Fan from Car After Hearing Them Listen to Her Music While Driving: 'Made a Friend'
"I couldn't believe my ears," wrote Grande on Instagram alongside a video of the sweet fan interaction
Imagine going for a drive, listening to Ariana Grande, looking out the window, seeing the singer herself and miraculously not crashing the car.
Grande recently shared an Instagram Stories video of herself riding in the backseat of a car and overhearing a fan listening to her song "Imagine," before chatting with the stunned driver and even briefly singing along.
"What’s your name? Edwin, nice to meet you," said the Wicked star in the clip, which has been shared to social media since its expiration. "I was like, ‘How is this real? Is that me?’ This made my day!"

"Oh my god, I adore you," replied the fan, who expressed, "I can't believe... I'm this close to you!"
Captioning the Instagram Stories video, Grande said she "made a friend" during the car ride, writing, "i couldn’t believe my ears !!!!!!"
"it was blasting. thank you edwin for making my day. im still crying," she added.
Edwin also shared a video of his perspective of the moment, which showed Grande singing along to "Imagine" with the window down before they briefly chatted.
"Imagine" was released in December 2018 as a promotional single from Grande's 2019 Thank U, Next album. The track reached No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Grammy winner is currently promoting her role as Galinda/Glinda in the upcoming Wicked film adaptation. Last week, the official Wicked Instagram account teased her version of the song "Popular" in a video featuring lyrics and clips from the movie.

However, Grande then called out the account for apparently sharing an incorrect lyric.
In the video, Galinda/Glinda sings the song to costar Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, and the lyrics read: "Popular, you're gonna be popular / I'll teach you the proper poise when you talk to boys / Little ways to flirt and flounce, ooh!"
Grande then took to the comments section with a correction. "it’s 'ploys' !!!!!! i love you @wickedmovie," she wrote, referencing the "poise" lyric from the clip.

According to the official Wicked sheet music released by Hal Leonard Corporation for the original Broadway musical, she was correct. "I'll teach you the proper ploys when you talk to boys," reads the lyric.
