Ariana Grande Shares Unfiltered Reaction to Tying Taylor Swift for an Impressive Record
Ariana Grande is certainly "Popular" on music charts, and she isn't the only one.
The Wicked star recently learned that she holds a special record only one other female artist has accomplished: Taylor Swift.
In a new video shared by MTV UK on Friday, Nov. 22, Grande was told that she and Swift are tied for the most songs to enter at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, each with seven.
"Really? I didn't know that," a stunned Grande, 31, said in the TikTok video, also featuring her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo.
As the two actresses were shocked by the revelation, the interviewer revealed that Swift, 34, is the only other female artist to do the same, which prompted Grande to reply, "Good company!" while she instantly began clapping.
Erivo, 37, immediately followed suit, tapping her nails on the sign she held in applause.
"they knew to instantly [clap] for mother Taylor," one fan on X (formerly Twitter) quipped after seeing the interaction, while another user dubbed both Grande and Swift "MY MOTHERS."
"Such a sweet answer! We stan a humble Queen," someone else wrote in support of the "God Is a Woman" singer's reaction.
“good company” MY TAYRIANA HEART" one user gushed, while another added, "GOAT APPRECIATE[s] GOAT."
For those curious about which of Grande's songs debuted at No. 1, MTV UK made a point to list them in the caption of the TikTok video. The seven songs include, "We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love), "Yes, And?," "Positions," "Rain on Me," "Stuck With U," "7 Rings" and "Thank U Next."
As for Swift, she previously debuted at the top of the chart with "Is It Over Now?," "Anti-Hero," All Too Well (10 Minute Version), "Willow," "Cardigan" and "Shake It Off."
