The Wicked hype has everyone buzzing with emotions running high — and in a new video posted by The Tonight Show, it looks like Ariana Grande and Jimmy Fallon got into a pretty heated debate.

In the TikTok captioned “Ariana’s sister is a witch,” Ariana — who plays the leading role in the upcoming Jon M. Chu movie — and Jimmy gesture wildly at each other in what looks like an intense argument. However, they’re actually lip-syncing to a popular audio: one that features two people locked in a passionate discussion about the intricacies of Glinda, the Good Witch.

“HER SISTER WAS A WITCH, RIGHT? AND WHAT WAS HER SISTER? A PRINCESS,” Ariana lip-syncs.

In the original video, posted in 2018 to YouTube by internet user Austin Parrish, the two people featured are seemingly arguing about the validity of labeling Glinda a princess as opposed to a witch. One protests that the franchise “is [his] favorite” before the other shoots him down immediately, no questions asked.

And Ariana and Jimmy’s TikTok did not lack the enthusiasm of the original in the slightest. In fact, commenters have pointed out how Ari nailed the mannerisms and hand gestures seen in the OG video.

Ariana and Jimmy’s recreation garnered online attention immediately, which is no surprise given the popularity of the original video. In fact, last week, a tweet went viral saying, “I am begging the @wickedmovie marketing team to invite these guys to ANY of the premiere events PLEASE.” Needless to say, fans online are delighted at the nod to the video.

Fans cheer and hold signs behind a barrier at a

Ariana, as well as the whole Wicked cast, has been getting attention throughout the press tour for her devotion to her character Glinda. From her matching tattoos with Cynthia, to her emotional reaction to being cast as Glinda back in 2022, it’s clear how much she cares about the role. And as much as fans love seeing her get in on the jokes, we may never solve the age-old argument those guys were having back in 2018.
