Anne Edmonds – or rather her character Helen Bidou – made a rather bizarre appearance on The Project last night, laying into the royal family.
When the subject of the royal family and the recent nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was brought up, the comedic character had a lot to say about it.
“I hated the dress,” the 36-year-old said. “I’m like, ‘Where’d ya get that? Witchery?’.”
Presenter Carrie Bickmore noted how the ceremony was “quite sweet”, which sent Anne aka Helen down a rabbit hole.

“Look I don’t like Meghan and I don’t like Kate because they’re not a patch on Diana and they never will be,” she explained, getting rather emotional. “And I will never forgive the queen for what she did when Diana died.
“She didn’t come out of the castle. She didn’t lay a wreath.”
Things were then taken up a notch by the comedian.
“Pay your respects! Do something! The people’s princess – you don’t know!” the character exclaimed. “Meghan, I hate you and I hate Kate!”
Anne’s performance on The Project as Helen certainly led to some viewers feeling quite taken aback.
