Yahoo Lifestyle Angelina Jolie Surprises Everyone and Ditches Shoes for Recent Outing

Angelina Jolie relies on a few staples when it comes to her day-to-day uniform: a timeless black dress, a sizable leather tote bag, a sleek trench coat, and — to top it all off — a pair of pumps. But during her latest appearance, a key part of that formula was notably missing.
The Maria star recently made an appearance on The Tonight Show, where she stepped onto the stage looking as elegant as ever in a sleeveless long black dress, an array of minimal gold jewelry — and no shoes. Indeed, the actor’s long-awaited return to late-night talk shows was done completely barefoot.
At the start of her interview with host Jimmy Fallon, Jolie addressed the elephant in the room. “I broke my toe yesterday, and I tried to find a comfortable shoe, but I just decided not to,” she explained.
Elsewhere in the interview, Jolie talked about her family, revealing why her kids likely won’t be following in her Hollywood footsteps (barefoot or not) anytime soon.
“My kids, I think some of them [want to work] off-camera, behind the scenes, but they really, really want to be — especially Shiloh — would really like to be private,” she told Fallon. “Not photographed, not on the thing. [Shiloh] most of all would like privacy.”
She added, “[Fame] wasn’t their choice. Some people are more comfortable in public, some people are more comfortable on talk shows, and some people are not.”
Jolie is a mother to six kids, whom she shares with ex-husband Brad Pitt: Maddox, 23; Pax, 20; Zahara, 19; Shiloh, 18; Knox, 16; and Vivienne, 16.
