"Anderson, take a seat," Cohen said before showing his pal what he was watching on his phone: the infamous footage of Cooper getting pummeled by rain and debris while covering Hurricane Milton.
"Look at this. You're wet, you're disheveled, there's debris hitting you," Cohen pointed out.
"Why do you have that on your phone?" Cooper wanted to know.
"I watch it all the time," Cohen answered, as Cooper made a face.
"Hey, listen, we need to be ready for New Year's Eve," Cohen continued. "There could be an ice storm!"
At that point, Cohen tossed a glass of ice cubes in Cooper's face.
"Ow!" Cooper complained.
"Or a hurricane!" Cohen said, pointing a hair dryer on full blast in Cooper's face.
"And obviously, confetti," Cohen added.
Cooper, stone-faced, raised an umbrella just in time as confetti rained down on his head.
"Maybe you are ready," Cohen acknowledged.
"We’re back!!!!! Can’t wait to have a ball while we watch the ball drop on #CNNNYE 🎉," Cohen captioned the post.
"Can’t wait!!! My two fave NYE dates! Bring on the giggles, Anderson!" wrote one person.
"The best duo ❤️," declared someone else.
"I’ve never wanted two people to drink more in my life," joked another commenter.
"There best be drinking going on or I don’t want it," agreed a fourth Instagram user.
Meanwhile, another fan wondered, "Will they be allowed to drink?" to which Cohen replied, "YES.
