America's Next Top Model star dies at 34
America’s Next Top Model star Jael Strauss has died aged 34 — just two months after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
Jael, who appeared on series eight of the reality show, died in a hospice at around 11am on Tuesday, according to TMZ.
She was unconscious for a few days and had reportedly quit chemotherapy not long after being diagnosed in October.
After moving into a hospice she took to Facebook to tell fans about her devastating diagnosis.
“First night in hospice. So many things I never knew about life. Or death. So many things,” she said.
The model went on to explain she had been told her stage 4 breast cancer was “incurable” but that she “didn’t want to die”.
“I need another one of those miracles that I got back in 2013,” she said, referring to her second chance after bouncing back from drug addiction.
Jael’s struggles
After appearing on the talent show hosted by Tyra Banks in 2007, Jael became addicted to meth which eventually led to her becoming homeless.
In 2012, the TV star appeared on Dr Phil at the desperate request of her brother Brandon and mother Debbie, who wanted to help her turn her life around.
The intervention appeared to be a turning point as a year later, Jael looked much healthier.
Speaking in 2013, she revealed she’d not touched alcohol or drugs since the show.
“It’s really amazing,” she told Too Fab at the time.
After receiving treatment for her addiction and getting clean, the model said she was “the happiest I’ve ever been in my entire life”.
Life cut short
But her happiness was cut short following her shock diagnosis two months ago on October 2 when she received news she had terminal breast cancer.
Since news of her death has been released, Jael has received an outpouring of love on social media from fans.
“Your smile will always be with us always,” one fan wrote on Jael’s Facebook page just hours ago.
While another said she was an “inspiration”.
