All American Season 7: Everything We Know So Far
All American will be back for its seventh season in just a few days… and it will look almost nothing like the six seasons that preceded it.
During the CW drama’s hiatus, the network has shared new details about All American‘s creative overhaul heading into Season 7, which will serve as a soft reboot featuring only a few original characters. The list of returnees does not include star Daniel Ezra, who was the first to announce (back in June 2024) that he would not serve as a series regular for the seventh season.

“Partnering with Daniel Ezra over the last six seasons to bring Spencer’s story to life has been such an amazing, fulfilling experience,” showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll said in a statement at the time. “Daniel truly is a gift and brought so much to the character on and off the field. And while Spencer has achieved his NFL dreams, I’m grateful Daniel will still remain an important part of this family, both in front of and behind the camera as we step into a new, exciting chapter of All American.”
What will Ezra’s role entail now that he’s no longer a full-time cast member? Which other cast members are leaving, and who’s staying? We’ve answered all of those questions and more in our intel round-up below; ahead of Season 7’s debut, keep scrolling for what we know so far about the new episodes!
What Is All American Season 7 About?
Season 7 will serve as a reboot of sorts for the long-running CW series, taking the show back to its origins at Beverly Hills High and South Crenshaw High.
“It’s the same heart, same NFL dream, same crosstown rivalry, same messy hormones,” the official logline reads, “ushered in by a new generation of L.A. teens, a new Beverly coach and our OG Vortex fam, who are surprised to find they’re supposed to be the responsible adults now.”
Who Is Coming Back for All American Season 7?
In September 2024, The CW confirmed that only three OG All American cast members — Michael Evans Behling (Jordan), Greta Onieogou (Layla) and Bre-Z (Coop) — had inked new deals to return as series regulars. And their returns do track with creative decisions made at the end of Season 6: In the finale, Jordan accepted a coaching job at South Crenshaw High; he and new wife Layla inherited the Baker household from Laura; and Coop got accepted into law school at both GAU and Yale, but had yet to make a decision between the two.
Who Is Not Coming Back for All American Season 7?
Daniel Ezra, who had starred as football phenom Spencer James since All American‘s debut, shared in June that he would not be back in a series-regular capacity for Season 7, calling Spencer “the most life-affirming character I’ve ever played.”
Three months later, five more cast members — Samantha Logan (Olivia), Cody Christian (Asher), Karimah Westbrook (Grace), Monét Mazur (Laura) and Chelsea Tavares (Patience) — were also confirmed to be exiting as series regulars. The CW has shared, though, that Ezra will be back to direct and guest-star in the new season, while “other fan-favorite OG characters” will also return as guest stars. (Logan is the first of those to be reported; she’ll pop up in Episode 2.)
And just as All American‘s Season 6 finale kept the door appropriately ajar for the cast members that are returning, the episode also brought closure for many of the characters who won’t be back. Spencer and Olivia, namely, got married at last, and Olivia planned to join Spencer in New York where he was playing professional football.
Who Is Joining the Cast of All American Season 7?
To fill the void left by its departing cast members, All American has added two new regulars to Season 7.
Osy Ikhile (Citadel, Black Mirror; left above) has joined as Cassius Jeremy, Beverly High’s new football coach. Described as a family man and a tough coach, Coach Jeremy has freshly relocated from Oakland, and he’s “determined to bring Beverly football back to its former glory, which means taking down South Crenshaw High’s program by any means necessary,” per the character description. Nathaniel McIntyre (David Makes Man) will co-star as Kingston Jeremy (aka KJ), Coach Jeremy’s son and Beverly High’s newly transferred quarterback who is singularly focused on playing for the NFL.
Additionally, Antonio J. Bell and Alexis Chikaeze — who respectively appeared in Season 6 as South Crenshaw student Khalil and Preach’s daughter, Amina — have both been upped to series regulars for Season 7.
The show has also added four recurring cast members to Season 7, per our sister site Deadline: Lauryn Hardy (Mann and Wife) as Tori, head cheerleader at Beverly High; Terayle Hill (Step Up: High Water) as Marqui Edwards, Khalil’s charming-yet-dangerous father; Elijah M. Cooper (That Girl Lay Lay) as Yasi, quarterback at South Crenshaw High; and newcomer Sasha Lance as Breonna Strong, a passionate law school associate professor.
When Does All American Season 7 Premiere?
Season 7 will kick off on a special night — Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 8/7c — before moving to its regular time slot on Monday, Feb. 3, at 8 pm. The new season spans 13 episodes; watch a trailer above.
Where Can I Catch Up on All American?
You’ve still got time to finish your All American binge before it returns for Season 7. All six previous seasons are currently available to stream on Netflix.
