Looking for easily portable entertainment? Great, because Amazon has amazing deals on Fire HD tablets right now. You can get a Fire 8 HD for just $60 (from $100) or the Fire Tablet HD 8 Plus for $85 (from $140). These deals won’t last long, so you'd be wise to pick up a tablet (or two) now while you can. Not sure which option to choose? Below, we decode the differences for you. Let's go!

A wallet-friendly tablet — especially at 40% off — this model features an 8-inch HD display and a fab 12 hours of battery life.

Stream movies, watch videos or play games with an enhanced processor, and enjoy downloaded content for hours on end, thanks to the Fire HD 8's 12-hour battery life. A USB-C port offers easier charging when you need to power back up. If you aren't a fan of ads, you can spend a little more to snag one without ads on the lock screen.

The Fire HD 8 tablet is an excellent option for people who want more than just reading capabilities (though it does make an excellent Kindle replacement, too). Check out all your favorite social media platforms, stream video and much more.

"This Fire 8 is a very nice upgrade," wrote a Fire tablet fan. "Although only 1 inch bigger [than the Fire 7], it makes the view just right. The screen resolution is sharper, the memory is larger, the processor speed is faster, the RAM is higher, and the battery is better and lasts longer. Although I was happy with my old one, this new one makes me much happier!"

With 3GB RAM and a powerful quad-core processor, the Fire HD 8 Plus delivers a smooth experience whether you’re browsing the web or binge-watching your favorite show.

With this upgrade from the Fire 8, you get more RAM, a more powerful charger and even wireless charging capabilities. That means it's faster and more portable (hence the "Plus"). It offers up to 64GB of onboard storage, as well as an additional 1TB through a microSD card. Best of all? It includes portable Alexa functions, meaning you can control your smart home or add items to your shopping list with a quick command.

The Fire HD 8 Plus tablet, like the standard version, can be purchased with or without lock-screen ads. Many people prefer to spend a little extra to get it without the ads, but that version isn't currently on sale. That said, the ads aren't all that intrusive and may actually show you a product you're interested in.

Reviewers say the Plus is the perfect alternative to considerably pricier iPads: "Our family has had so many iPads, iPad Airs, iPad minis...and I can say that, when bought brand spanking new, at the time of release, we were in love. Honeymoons don't last forever, unfortunately, and neither do the tablets," one Fire convert confessed. "This little Fire Tablet is at least the quality equivalent of the $600 iPad Mini."

Need to go even bigger? You can pick up a Fire HD 10 tablet for $85 — more than 40% off its normal price.

Brighter than the Samsung Galaxy Tab, faster than a...wait, that's Superman, but this Fire HD 10 tablet comes in a close second.

This tablet comes with 32GB of storage, a full 1080 pixel display and a 12-hour battery life that will keep you plugged in and entertained all day (or all night) long. It's the same price as the Fire HD 8 Plus, so if you want a bigger size, what do you have to lose?

"My Fire HD 10 is just the perfect thing for me. There is so much I can do with it to keep me entertained while waiting in doctor's offices," said one of the more than 78,000 five-star reviewers. "I transferred all my Kindle Content to it, and with the super long-lasting powerful battery I can read my books longer than the 2-hour limit I have on my old Kindle. I have surfed the web, Zoomed my grandkids and taken several clear sharp photos. Since it was a recent gift I have not taken advantage of all its functions yet but soon will."
