Black Friday is one of the most-anticipated shopping events of the year, with leading UK brands slashing the prices on multiple products ahead of the festive season.

The discount holiday might be a US import, but it’s been growing in popularity in Britain over the past few years with even more brands involved than ever in 2019 - and deals running for longer.

Enter, Amazon. The online retailer, known for offering some of the best discounts available on Black Friday, has announced plans to extend deals this year.

Amazon’s Black Friday sale will run for a whopping eight days, starting a 00:01 on 22 November 2019 and finishing on 23:59 on 29 November 2019.

Each day will give Brits opportunities to bag new bargains in the run up to Christmas. ‘Deals of the Day’ will run across thousands of 2019’s must-have products - from technology and fashion to toys and homeware.

Additionally, look out for ‘Lightning Deals’. These short-lived discounts will apply to limited quantities of products and only be available to shop for a limited period of time. New deals will become available every five minutes.

This year will mark the 10th time Amazon has run Black Friday deals. It’s been a huge hit in previous year. In 2018, Amazon shoppers bought over two million items, saving almost £40 million on Black Friday alone.

Popular sale items last year included Echo Dot (3rd Gen), Instant Pot Pressure Cooker, LEGO Marvel Avengers and Waterpik Professional Water Flosser.

Prior to the sale, it’s worth considering signing up to Amazon Prime for a 30-day-free trial. As a Prime member, you’ll get exclusive, 30-minute early access to all Lightning Deals, plus ultra-fast delivery and many other benefits over the eight day period.

Other high street stores to keep an eye on this Black Friday include Argos and Currys, who are both expected to cut prices across multiple tech products, as well department stores John Lewis and Marks & Spencer.

Last year, both department stores boasted great deals and discounts on fashion, beauty, homewear, childrenswear, tech and more.
