Amazon Australia launches ‘Pet Profiles’

Aussie pet owners can now create a Pet Profile on Amazon.com.au, providing them with personalised product recommendations and discounts on pet-related items.

And to celebrate the launch, Amazon Australia has announced a pet look-alike competition to find the pet and paw-rent duo that look most alike to be the face of Amazon Pet Profiles and win a $1,000 Amazon gift card.

Georgia Love, fur parent to her cat Pawdry Hepburn, has partnered with Amazon Australia to judge the fun competition, tapping into the pets and owners doppelganger trend and Aussies’ obsession with their pets.

She is definitely one to admit she is always doing anything to make her “first love” Pawdrey Hepburn happy.

“I just love Pawdrey so much, sometimes I can’t even imagine how much I would love an actual human child,” Georgia tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “Pets are so much fun and so good for your mental health.”

Of course, Georgia’s love of animals became clear from the very start of her appearance on The Bachelorette Australia.

Who could forget the moment Georgia first met her fiancé Lee on the set of the reality show in 2016. He left a lasting impression when he rocked up accompanied by a donkey, with Georgie declaring her love for Lee in the romantic season finale.

The pair have been faced with being in lockdown together during the coronavirus pandemic, and Georgia says having a pet during these times has been a ‘lifesaver’.

“She keeps us entertained all the time (she has a huge personality!) and having something to look after but also who shows you unconditional love and doesn’t know or care about any global pandemic, they’re just happy to have us home,” Georgia tells us.

Owners of all types of pets can enter the competition to be judged by Georgia on Instagram by posting their best look-alike pet pictures with the hashtag #AmazonPetsAU.

To set up a Pet Profile, customers can simply visit Amazon.com.au/yourpets, select their pet type and answer some questions based on breed, age, gender, weight and preferences when it comes to food flavours and types of toys.

The journalist and Lee became engaged last September, both taking to social media to share the happy news.

“If you’re not busy for the next 50 or 60 years...”, Georgia posted alongside a photo showing off her new bling and the hashtag #YES.

Lee posted the same sweet image to share the news, adding the caption “I liked it so I put a ring on it”.
