Amanda Keller admits she was 'upset' by Tom Gleeson's Gold Logies speech
While she was gracious in defeat, TV and radio presenter Amanda Keller has revealed she was actually left “upset” by Tom Gleeson’s controversial Gold Logie acceptance speech.
Opening up about Australian television’s night of nights on the first instalment of Jonesy and Amanda since the awards she revealed some parts of the speech didn’t sit well with her.

Gleeson defeated the likes of Amanda Keller, Waleed Aly and Costa Georgiardis for the coveted gong on the night but it was the lead up to the event hat had raised eyebrows, with his apparent efforts to turn the TV Week Logie Awards into a ‘joke’.
Something he decided to address in his acceptance speech when he told the audience he loves jokes.
“I really think we should all lighten the f**k up. I really do,” he said on stage at The Star on the Gold Coast.
“Just because all of you want it and I’ve got it, don’t get angry with me. It’s all right, you’ll all survive,” he continued.
“It’s a shame this is the last Gold Logie that’s ever going to be handed out, according to Grant Denyer, I’ve ruined the Logies. But at least I won this all by myself.”
Tom and Amanda reportedly cleared the air at the airport after the awards night, but she clarified her thoughts on radio on Monday morning saying she had “no problem” with Tom, but some of his words had upset her.
“I think in his speech when he said, ‘everyone who works in TV, if you want to win this you’re a big wanker’...and that upset me because he was mean to Grant I felt,” she told her WSFM co-host Brendan “Jonesy” Jones, referring to last year’s winner Grant Denyer.
“He said ‘Yeah I won it last year for Grant, and sucker, now I’ve done it on my own for me’.
“That’s not fair to Grant, he won that last year on his own two feet. And people that have won in the past: Carrie Bickmore changed the world, she’s raised ten million dollars for brain cancer research. Grant spoke about redemption. Waleed Aly spoke about inclusiveness.”
She added she thought his speech gave people permission to say “yeah you’re all up yourselves, and this is all a big joke”.
“And it wasn’t a joke to me,” she concluded.
Tracy Grimshaw takes aim at Tom Gleeson
Amanda isn’t the only one who was left a little miffed by Tom’s acceptance speech.
Tracy Grimshaw ripped into the ABC comedian the next day during A Current Affair, branding Tom’s Logies speech “hilarious”, before claiming the Hard Quiz host failed to “close his speech with some grace”.

Before the awards night, Grant Denyer scolded Tom for speaking ill of Australian TV’s night of nights.
“It's become a joke this year," Grant said on 2DayFM, adding “two of the loudest Gold nominees are just effectively taking the piss" in reference to Tom and Sunrise star Sam Mac.
