Less than a month after former child star Amanda Bynes resurfaced on Instagram with the big news of her engagement, it’s been confirmed the couple have since called it quits.

On Valentine’s Day, Amanda — who starred on All That and The Amanda Show before finding fame as a teen box office queen in films like What a Girl Wants — flashed a large engagement ring as she held hands with her new fiancé, who called the “love of my life”.

He was later identified as Paul Michael, but now all Instagram evidence of the relationship has been deleted, and Amanda was ringless in a recent solo photo.

Now, Paul has confirmed to In Touch Weekly that the couple has broken up.

Michael told the celebrity gossip magazine that “we did” call off the engagement, but claimed he remained on good terms with Amanda post-breakup.

“I love her though, she’s my best friend,” he said.

Amanda has not publicly commented on the split. Her most recent Instagram post is almost a week old, and shows her celebrating one year and two months of sobriety with two male friends.

This would have been the first marriage for Amanda, who quit acting in 2010 — her last film was Easy A — and has since battled substance abuse and mental health issues.

Her mother maintains her conservatorship, which the former actress and aspiring fashion designer recently spoke out against in her Instagram Stories.

Late last month, a source told E! News that Amandas mother would have to approve a marriage but was reportedly unlikely to do so.
