Alex Rodriguez’s Dating History: A Look a the Former Yankees Star’s Relationships — and Who He’s Been Spotted with Since Jennifer Lopez
Alex Rodriguez previously dated Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz and was engaged to Jennifer Lopez
Alex Rodriguez's relationship history is nearly as storied as his legendary baseball career.
The former New York Yankee — most commonly referred to by his nickname, A-Rod — has been in several high-profile relationships over the years.
Rodriguez was married once, to Cynthia Scurtis, from 2002 to 2008 and they welcomed two children together. Since their divorce, Rodriguez has dated a number of well-known and accomplished women, including Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz, Anne Wojcicki and, famously, Jennifer Lopez.
Following the end of his engagement to Lopez in 2021, the ESPN sportscaster embraced "life as a college dad" for his elder daughter Natasha. "Family is the single most important thing," he told PEOPLE in March 2024.
The retired professional baseball player is also now dating Jaclyn Cordeiro, a Canadian fitness instructor.
While the MLB alum shares his takes during the 2024 World Series between the Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers, here's a look back at Alex Rodriguez's relationship history over the years.
Cynthia Scurtis
The former baseball pro first met Cynthia Scurtis, a psychology teacher and pretrial counselor, at a Miami gym in the late '90s, New York Post reported.
After years of a long distance relationship — with Rodriguez playing for the Seattle Mariners in Washington and Scurtis working toward her masters in psychology in Florida — the two were married on Nov. 2, 2002, at his Dallas mansion.
A-Rod and Scurtis welcomed their first child, daughter Natasha Alexander Rodriguez, on Nov. 18, 2004. Their family grew again with the arrival of their daughter Ella Alexander Rodriguez on April 21, 2008.
Shortly after, Scurtis filed for divorce in July 2008, claiming A-Rod allegedly had a series of affairs and "emotionally abandoned" her and their kids. While the athlete denied the accusations, he admitted the marriage was “irretrievably broken." The divorce was finalized in September 2008.

Though their split was contentious, A-Rod and Scurtis have since repaired their relationship. They have completed a nine-week workout challenge together, celebrated Thanksgiving, taken a family trip to Memphis and traveled to Capri for Rodriguez's birthday.
A source told PEOPLE in June 2021 that the former couple now have "love and caring from both sides."
Rodriguez shared a touching tribute to his ex-wife on her 49th birthday in December 2021.
"Today I am celebrating someone very special in my life. Someone who continues to make a difference in my daughters' lives every day and has my eternal respect and admiration," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "You're a wonderful mom & role model to our incredible daughters."
Bethenny Frankel
A-Rod was said to have dated Bethenny Frankel in early 2009 — a rumor that Frankel later confirmed during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in May 2017.
When asked by host Andy Cohen if she ever dated the MLB legend, the former Real Housewives of New York City star responded, "What does used to date mean? ... I went out with him on two dates."
As for whether Rodriguez was a good kisser? "I don't honestly remember," Frankel said.
Kate Hudson
A-Rod was first romantically linked to Kate Hudson in May 2009, when the actress was spotted attending a Yankees game and later by Rodriguez's side during a post-game rendezvous at Mustang Grill, a N.Y.C. restaurant.
Hudson was frequently seen at Yankees games from that point forward, following A-Rod on the road to a three-game series against the Texas Rangers that May, witnessing him hit his 564th career homerun in June and celebrating the Yankees' World Series win by Rodriguez's side in November.
"It's somewhat serious," a source told PEOPLE at the time. "He introduced her to a bunch of his friends."
In a December 2009 appearance on Late Show, Hudson told David Letterman that Rodriguez was a "nice guy."
A few days later, rumors of a split began when A-Rod was seen partying in Miami — without Hudson. A source confirmed to PEOPLE that they had "been broken up for a couple of weeks," adding, "They decided to move on.”
Cameron Diaz
In the spring of 2010, Rodriguez was seen getting close to Cameron Diaz.
Though the two initially denied reports of a relationship, the baseball pro and actress reportedly spent time together in the luxury suite of Boston's Liberty Hotel in May 2010, according to New York Post.
A-Rod and Diaz's relationship continued to heat up over the next few months, with the couple spending the holidays together in Mexico.
By the following summer, they were spotted scouting property together in Miami, where Rodriguez was reportedly building a house. Although Diaz confirmed their relationship in a June 2011 interview with Elle UK, rumors of trouble began to swirl.
After spending that summer faltering between on-again and off-again, the couple officially called it quits in September 2011. Despite their split, there was no ill will between the Yankees slugger and actress.
"I don't like talking about my relationships, but I will tell you about C.D. — she's probably one of the greatest human beings I've ever met, and just an amazing light," Rodriguez said about Diaz the following year.
Torrie Wilson
Rodriguez and Torrie Wilson, a former Playboy model and WWE diva, were first seen together in December 2011.
The duo were photographed vacationing in Mexico, riding bicycles together in Miami and working out in the same gym in Wilson's hometown of Boise, Idaho — all prompting rumors that they were an item.
Rodriguez and Wilson all but confirmed their relationship when they were caught kissing while sitting courtside at a Los Angeles Lakers game in January 2012.
Their romance lasted just over three years, and the couple parted ways in February 2015 — but Wilson told TMZ that Rodriguez was "amazing" and they would remain "always friends."
Anne Wojcicki
Sources confirmed to PEOPLE that Rodriguez began dating 23andMe co-founder and CEO Anne Wojcicki in early 2016.
The two were seen together at the Vanity Fair Super Bowl Party in San Francisco that February. Rodriguez and Wojcicki then attended the Met Gala in May. During their romance, the Yankee star also announced his retirement from baseball after a 22-year career that August.
Their relationship ended less than a year after it started, with Wojcicki confirming their breakup to PEOPLE in February 2017.
"He's a wonderful guy. I adore him and his friends and his family, but cross country relationships are hard," she said in a statement at the time.
Later that November, Wojcicki's mother Esther revealed to The New York Times that she knew their relationship wouldn't last because of their differing passions.
"I liked A-Rod, he was a very nice man," she said. "He seemed to be genuinely in love with Anne, but I right away figured out this was a mismatch. ... His main interest in life was something that none of us had ever focused on, which was baseball."
Jennifer Lopez
Rodriguez first crossed paths with Jennifer Lopez back in 1999 when she autographed a photo for him, the former baseball pro revealed in a now-deleted Instagram throwback. But their relationship didn't begin until years later, in February 2017, after a chance encounter led to A-Rod texting J.Lo and asking her out to dinner.
The romance took off quickly: In May 2017, Rodriguez and Lopez made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala. By that summer, the couple were spending time together with their children (Rodriguez's daughters Natasha and Ella, and Lopez's twins Emme and Max) and vacationing together in Paris.
Though their relationship appeared to be getting serious fast, Lopez revealed to Good Morning America in June 2018 that they had no plans of rushing things.
"We're grown-ups, and we're going to take our time and we're going to do things at our own pace," she said. "Our life right now is incredibly wonderful. Between our kids and our work, we're truly blessed. We don't need anything more right now."
After celebrating their two year anniversary in February 2019, Rodriguez and Lopez got engaged the following month during a vacation to the Bahamas. "There aren't many words to share with you, only feelings. Gratitude. Excitement. And just ... joy," he wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post about the special moment.
In the midst of a busy start to 2020 — including making the awards show rounds and watching Lopez perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show — the pair planned to wed in June in Italy. But the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to postpone their plans twice and they didn't "really talked about it" afterward.
In March 2021, PEOPLE confirmed that Lopez and Rodriguez had ended their two-year engagement. That same month, they shared a joint statement with PEOPLE that said they were "working on some things." But by April 2021, things were officially over. "We are better as friends," the couple said in a statement to PEOPLE at the time.
Rodriguez later revealed that he had "no regrets" about his time with Lopez, sharing that they had "a great time" together.
"She's the most talented human being I've ever been around," the former MLB star said of his ex-fiancèe on The Martha Stewart Podcast in July 2022.
Kathryne Padgett
Rodriguez struck up a relationship with fitness model and influencer Kathryne Padgett during the summer of 2022.
TMZ first posted photos of the baseball legend kissing Padgett at a nightclub in Capri in June 2022. A source revealed to PEOPLE at the time that the two were "casually dating."
That same month, Rodriguez and Padgett were seen hand-in-hand leaving Machine Gun Kelly's concert after party in N.Y.C.
The summer romance fizzled out, though, and PEOPLE confirmed the pair had split in September 2022. "It just ran its course," a source told PEOPLE about their relationship.
Jaclyn Cordeiro
Rodriguez was first romantically linked to Jaclyn Cordeiro in October 2022, according to Page Six.
Two months later, the MLB All-Star made his relationship with the fitness instructor Instagram official when he posted a photo of them with his kids in December, just in time for Christmas.
Shortly after, a source told PEOPLE that the former pro athlete and Registered Nurse bonded over their passion for health and wellness. "She may be as strict about her own regimen as he is,” the source said in December 2022. “Alex and Jaclyn are both fitness obsessed and into exercise and body building.”
The source also added that Rodriguez and Cordeiro “also share parenting in common" as she is a mom to two girls.
Still, a different source told PEOPLE that they were simply having a good time together. "They are enjoying their lives now, but I don't know how serious it is," the second source said.
Since then, the couple have been spotted attending the 2023 Super Bowl, Minnesota Timberwolves games and vacationing together. They’ve also celebrated more holidays, including Valentine’s Day, which falls on Cordeiro’s birthday.
“Thank you for making everyday brighter,” Rodriguez wrote on Instagram in February 2024. “You are a beautiful light in my life and make me better everyday. Love you mucho!”
More recently, a source told PEOPLE in August 2024 that the pair were still going strong. “Alex is indeed very happy spending quality time with Jaclyn and his family," the source said.
