It’s the perfect treat on a hot summer’s day and only costs $6.

A mum has shared her genius wine slushies recipe hack online using a few cheap Aldi staples to do it.

Posting her recipe on the Aldi Mums Facebook group, she revealed how Aldi’s $4.99 Little Birdwood Sweet Red wine mixed with the supermarket’s lemonade - which costs just 69 cents - makes a delicious bubbly summer drink.

And goes even better in the freezer.

“So I love this red wine but I’m a fan of my bubbly wines. So this is a summer mix made in heaven,” she captioned an image showing the ingredients.

“Also great to leave both in the freezer to make red wine slushies!!”

“Love it! I am coming to yours,” one person commented.

“Luuuv an alcoholic slushie,” another agreed.

The combination is traditionally called a Weinschorle, or wine spritzer, and is a German beverage made by diluting juice or wine with carbonated water or lemonade (lemon-lime soda).

Shoppers lose it as 'genius' Aldi wine bag returns

The discovery comes after the supermarket had shoppers racing to nab another wine-related item on sale during the December 18th Special Buys.

Aldi’s famous ‘Tote with Concealed Cooler’ picnic bag flew off the shelves yet again. A truly multi-purpose item, the wine cooler tote bag includes a side-pocket made to hold a cask wine bag, and even includes an opening for the tap.

Parents in particular are heralding the bag as something akin to the messiah of nappy and tote bags on online fan pages.

Posted to an Aldi mums Facebook group, one mum kicked off the commotion by sharing a photo of the bag in the Aldi catalogue.

“This is ALL I want for Xmas!” the mum wrote alongside the photo.
