AGC Television To Adapt ‘Hook’s Daughter: The Pirate Princess Chronicles’ Trilogy As Series, With Thor Freudenthal Directing
AGC Television is adapting an R.V. Bowman young adult novel trilogy into a live-action family series.
Hook’s Daughter: The Pirate Princess Chronicles will be created from the book of the same name, with Thor Freudenthal (Words on A Bathroom Wall, Carnival Row) is attached to direct and Lucy Brown (Bride or Groom) is adapting the fantasy adventure trilogy.

AGC’s Chief Creative Officer Lourdes Diaz, YA division head Aghi Koh and CEO Stuart Ford will executive produce.
The synopsis reads: “When her Sea Captain father fails to show up for his annual visit at her boarding school, a 16-year-old girl breaks out to search for his whereabouts. She is shocked to find he is on a magical island called Neverland and is known as the villainous Captain Hook. But when she uncovers family secrets, she also discovers the real villain just might be Peter Pan.”
German director Freudenthal most recently developed and directed Prime Video limited series The Therapy, which is based on a best-seller of the same name. He has also directed pilots and select episodes for Amazon’s fantasy series Carnival Row, NBC’s Quantum Leap reboot and La Brea, The Tick for Amazon and several Greg Berlanti shows including Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow, Supergirl and The Flash.
Brown co-wrote comedy feature script Bride or Groom with Olivia Poulet, which came second in the Black List UK (aka The Brit List). She also co-wrote the feature comedy screenplay The Hen Do and her solo writing projects include My Ride Or Die, The First Girls and If I Knew Then.
Freudenthal is repped by Gersh agent Abram Nalibotsky and manager Peter McHugh at The Gotham Group. Brown is repped by manager Jonathan Rosenthal from 3 Arts Entertainment and Gersh agents Lee Keele and Sandra Lucchesi with VP of Legal & Business Affairs Conor McElroy representing AGC Television.
