Adriana Lima farewells Victoria's Secret was emotional final runway

Adriana Lima made her way down the catwalk for the last time at the 23rd annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

The 37-year-old Brazilian model has worked alongside the famous lingerie brand for almost two decades and has twice held the honour of wearing the Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra – first in 2008 and again in 2010.

She also holds the title of the longest standing Angel.

At last night’s show, held at Pier 24 in NYC, the mum-of-two struggled to hold back tears as she took to the runway for the final time, wearing a baby blue set paired with oversized feathered wings.

Holding her hands to her chest, she thanks the crowd and the brand while closing the show.

She also shared an emotional Instagram post, writing, “Dear Victoria, Thank you for showing me the world, sharing your secrets, and most importantly not just giving me wings but teaching me to fly.”

Adriana was joined on the catwalk by the likes of Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Winnie Harlow and Kendall Jenner.

Returning names Candice Swanepoel, Stella Maxwell, Sara Sampaio and Taylor Marie Hill also took part as well as this year’s Fantasy Bra wearer, Elsa Hosk.

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has received its fair share of controversy in recent years, with some questioning whether it remains relevant amid its lack of size diversity – there has still not been one plus size model walking on the runway.

However, it is still watched streamed widely across the world, despite last year’s show receiving just under five million viewers – the lowest ratings ever.
