Wicked filmmaker Jon M. Chu will be honored during the ceremony with the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award, which recognizes distinguished achievement in the art and business of film. Career Achievement Awards will be presented to Oscar-winning original Star Wars editor Paul Hirsch and Maysie Hoy, whose credits include The Six Triple Eight and multiple Dolly Parton telefilms.

Since the turn of the 21st century, the Eddie winner for theatrical drama has gone on to score the Academy Award for Best Editing 14 of 24 times — but only once in the past four years. Oppenheimer and The Holdovers took the top film honors at the 2024 Eddies, with Oppenheimers‘s Jennifer Lame going on the win the Oscar for Best Film Editing.

Last year’s TV winners included the editors behind FX’s The Bear and CBS’ How I Met Your Father on the comedy side and HBO’s The Last of Us for drama.

Founded in 1950, American Cinema Editors is an honorary society that champions the art, craft and business of film editing. Here are its nominees for the 2025 ACE Eddie Awards, with those vying for the Anne V. Coates Award for Student Editing to be announced later:
