“Abbott Elementary” Crew Surprised Quinta Brunson with Adorable Extra Dressed as Her in Viral 2014 Video: 'IYKYK'
The sitcom creator shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the set of her show's Halloween-themed episode
Quinta Brunson encountered a sweet little blast from her past while shooting an episode of Abbott Elementary.
The Emmy winner, 34, posted a behind-the-scenes photo from the set of her show's Halloween-themed episode, which airs on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Double-costumed as her character Janine Teagues dressed as a mosquito for the holiday, she posed next to a young extra wearing a khaki jacket and holding a full box of movie snacks, an homage to Brunson's viral video "The Girl Who's Never Been on a Nice Date" from 2014.

"I rarely share bts, but the Abbott crew surprised/pranked me with this adorable little Easter egg background kiddie costume" she captioned her Instagram Stories post posing beside her mini-me.
"Iykyk," Brunson added as a shorthand for "if you know you know."
The decade-old 15-second video features the actress in line at movie concessions standing beside her "date," whose head is cut off in the frame. The man can be heard ordering a variety of treats, with each ask prompting an impressed reaction from Brunson.
Several of the mentioned sweet and savory bites can be spotted in the extra's outfit 10 years later, including Skittles, Reese's Pieces, a pretzel and a large popcorn, the last of which caused Brunson to erupt in surprise in the original clip.
"A large? You got f---ing money! He got money! Get it all for him," she exclaimed in the video with over 2 million views on YouTube.
Brunson's "Girl Who's Never Been on a Nice Date" series set the wheels in motion for her Hollywood career, which started when she got her "first official acting job" on New Girl in 2018, as she told PEOPLE in 2022.
The comedian made further strides in the HBO sketch series A Black Lady Sketch Show before selling her mockumentary-style workplace comedy Abbott Elementary to ABC. Alongside costars Tyler James Williams, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Lisa Ann Walter, Brunson leads as a hopelessly optimistic teacher in an underfunded Philadelphia school system.
The show — which is currently in its fourth season — has nabbed four Emmy Awards, including wins for Brunson's writing and acting.
Abbott Elementary airs Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. on ABC. The show is also available to stream on Hulu.
